Oakham Homes, the firm behind the High Oakham Park development in Mansfield, has appointed local contractor Carmalor to carry out the first phase of construction work at the site.

Phase one of the scheme, which includes the refurbishment of four existing homes and the construction of two new dwellings, saw all six properties reserved within just a couple of weeks.

Phase two will see 18 plots arranged around parkland and woodland grounds. Nine of these plots have already been reserved.

Richard Burns, from Oakham Homes, said: “This is a very special site, and we have always said that we, as a local business formed by local people, would always look to work with companies from the Mansfield area.

“Carmalor has a very good track record delivering exclusive developments to extremely high standards. We are delighted to have engaged the company to get the construction work under way.”

He added: “The award of this contract takes Oakham Homes’ total investment in the site, to date, to in excess of £4m.”

Carmalor is currently preparing the site for construction works, and is scheduled to complete Phase One by Easter next year.

Mark Brown, managing director at Carmalor, said: “It’s a wonderful setting, and the whole feel of the place, from the marketing to the way Oakham Homes does business, sets it apart from a lot of other developments.

“Much thought and respect for the location has gone into how Oakham Homes want the site to be, and Carmalor are proud to have been selected as the construction partner for Phase One.”
