Nine new homes are set to be built in Lenton on the site of a former pub on Gregory Street.

Developer Chartwell Properties will begin work on Sky Heights the site of the Red Cow pub, which has been vacant since it was demolished in 2015, in December, with work scheduled for completion in December 2019.

The developer says it hopes that the eight 3-bedroom and one 4-bedroom properties will bring families back to the area due to its close proximity to the QMC, NG2 Business Park and access to the tram network.

Jack Digva, director of Chartwell Properties which recently completed a major redevelopment of The Grange on Melton Road West Bridgford said: “We have worked closely Graham Chapman and Rob Percival of Nottingham City Council to ensure the Sky Heights homes are designed with families firmly in mind and will be priced accordingly. We want to help rejuvenate this area and make the best use of a site that has been vacant for too long and offers a great location with its unrivalled access to the tram network.

How the new homes will look

“There is parking available for the residents of course but this is all about sustainability and encouraging access to the public transport network. They are not available for sale as student properties but are perfect for families who we hope will enjoy being a part of their local community.”

The properties have been designed by Nottingham based CBP Architects, which has worked on Marco Island, Pavilion Road in West Bridgford and Castle Exchange in Nottingham.

Keith Clark, director of CBP Architects said: “These are stunning properties that will play a major role in attracting families to the area and helping to reinvigorate this site that has been left unoccupied for far too long. We are particularly pleased to be working on a scheme that has sustainability at its heart and that will be able to make the best use of Nottingham’s fantastic public transport network.

The houses are expected to be priced from around £260,000.
