Lincoln City made a lost of £1.09m for the year-ending 30 June 2018 after staffing costs increased “significantly”.

The Imps’ turnover increased from £4.68m million in 2016/17 to £5.28m last season, while average attendances leapt from 5,162 to an impressive 8,782.

Lincoln City currently top League Two and are the favourites to win the title.

In a statement, chairman Clive Nates said: “We are at a pivotal moment as a club. We have momentum thanks to a remarkable two years of success and porgress. We believe this represents a rare opportunity to transform the running of the club and attempt to establish ourselves higher in the football pyramid.”

Nates added that he is continuing to seek investment for the club from “like-minded individuals”.
