Ilkeston manufacturer swoops for bag-in-box business

Derbyshire manufacturer Peak Packaging has acquired the UK bag-in-box business of Liqui-Box, part of the portfolio of Connecticut-based private equity firm Olympus Partners.
The Ilkeston firm manufactures 1000-litre liquid liners, incorporating a large range of produced fitments, for the storage and transportation of liquid products within the dairy, food, toiletries/cosmetics, chemical and bio-services industries.
Legal advice on the deal was provided by Flint Bishop and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, while Rob Wilson at Dains provided support to Peak Packaging on financial due diligence. Kirkland & Ellis International advised Liqui-Box.
Robert Wheatley, owner and CEO of Peak Packaging, said: “The acquisition provides a fantastic opportunity for Peak Packaging to expand our well-established business manufacturing liquid liners and fitments. We will be working hard over the coming weeks and months to ensure a smooth transition of the customers and look forward to offering a wider product range going forward.”
Peak Packaging has two manufacturing sites in the UK and Poland.
