One week to go until Hot Property

Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) 2019 is just one week away and behind the scenes preparations are ramping up. With a record-breaking number of tickets sold, this year’s event is set to be one of the best yet.

Therefore, this week we sat down with the people tasked with capturing the magic of Hot Property – videographer Danielle Taylor and photographer Greg Jackson.

What does your role involve?

Greg: “This is my seventh year supporting Hot Property and each year it’s my job to capture all the best moments of the dress rehearsal, back stage and of course the main show.”

Danielle: “As the videographer, it’s my role to create a video that shows off what a brilliant night Hot Property is, something that’s pretty hard to fit into a two-minute video!”

How do you prepare for Hot Property?

Greg: “The most important prep is ensuring that my gear is charged and ready to go. On the day you’ll find me snapping away and making sure I say hi to everyone so that new people know I’m the photographer and not just a stranger taking their photo!”

Danielle: “On the day of the event I’m busy setting up my cameras and marking out little areas in the venue from where my cameras and additional crew will be filming. I like to be fully prepped as it gets pretty busy on the night and I want to get all the best angles.

“During the day I’ll also be filming interviews with the organisers and the charity to really get to the heart of what Hot Property is all about – raising money for invaluable local organisations.”

What is your favourite part of the event?

Greg: “The best thing about Hot Property is seeing everyone perform. Despite being part of the team for seven years, I’m still amazed at how high the standard is. I love live music so it’s a great evening that never really feels like work.”

Danielle: “It’s definitely the song selections and costumes – I can barely stop myself dancing while trying to film a steady shot or laughing at the comedic costumes people come on stage in. As a video editor, you see a lot of the content quite a few times and it’s thoroughly enjoyable listening to all the songs again. It’s very hard to decide what makes it into the final video.”

The sponsors for this year’s event include Pulse Consult and Savills as headline sponsors as well as: B&M Installations, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Samclo Construction and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are: Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.

The chosen charity for Hot Property 2019 is Switch Up, an organisation that uses a combination of physical activity mentorship, counselling and education to help young people with complex issues.
