On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Lisa Scott

Clumber Consultancy, the specialist pensions and ERA service provider for the UK insolvency market, has appointed a senior ERA administrator.

Lisa Scott is the third new face to join the Edwinstowe-based firm in the latter half of 2019.

Scott began her career with BDO UK’s Employment Rights Act team. She joins Clumber Consultancy to further strengthen its ERA offering for insolvency practitioners.

She said: “Clumber Consultancy has been quietly forging a reputation for excellence in what is a very niche area and the ERA work within the business is more specialised still. I am very excited about my new role, knowing Paul and Darren’s commitment to leading the sector.”

Elsewhere, two members of the senior leadership team at law firm Shakespeare Martineau have been elected to sit on the CBI’s West Midlands and East Midlands Councils.

CEO Sarah Walker-Smith and CFO Lesley Spencer will sit in the West and East respectively.

Both will begin a three-year term from 1 January 2020, giving Shakespeare Martineau the opportunity to play a leading role in influencing the policy landscape both locally and nationally.

The CBI consists of 12 regional councils, containing over 500 senior business executives from approximately 400 member companies.

Walker-Smith said: “We are undergoing a dramatic period of change and the business community needs to work together, unlocking the potential of the regions and their businesses, and pushing for success.

“Our people and our clients are at the core of everything we do at the firm and having the chance to represent their interests within the CBI, as well as at a regional and national government level, will be a great opportunity. We’re already arranging a series of events and roundtables to seek our clients’ input and find out exactly which issues and initiatives they’d like us to raise and champion.”
