Grade II listed building to become a KFC

How the new KFC could look

Plans to turn the site of a former Habitat store in Nottingham city centre into a KFC have been approved by Council planning chiefs.

The long-derelict Grade II listed unit on Long Row is now set to be transformed into a 50-cover fast food restaurant and takeaway which could create around 20 jobs.

An outdoor seating area has been proposed and external air conditioning units will be installed at the property in line with planning regulations.

The application was submitted by Quinton Properties on behalf of KFC franchisee Gastronomy Foods UK.

The premises has been vacant since Habitat was placed into liquidation in 2011. According to a planning statement submitted with the application last year, the property is “vulnerable to deterioration” in its current state.
