Hugely respected Nottingham businessman passes away

Bill Landa

Bill Landa, the director at Nottingham forecourt promotions business, has passed away.

Born in India, Bill’s family moved to Nottingham during the mid-1960s.

He attended Claremont School and subsequently worked closely in the family business.

In 1983, DSL Group was established, and Bill went on to achieve great things in retail and wholesale – including the formation of a considerable property portfolio.

From humble beginnings, DSL Group now supplies the majority of the UK forecourt sector and employs over 100 staff nationally.

DSL Group was listed as one of the top 50 companies within BDO’s Nottinghamshire Growth Report 2019 and listed within the 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2019 Report published by The London Stock Exchange Group.

Bill was widely known and highly respected by the professional and business community. Despite his success in business, Bill remained humble and very much a man of the people. He stayed true to the beliefs of his religion, Sikhism and was extremely proud of his Sikh faith, promoting its culture and teachings at an international level. He personally supported numerous charities and good causes.

Christian Mulcahy, business development director at DSL Group, said: “For many of us who knew him personally, Bill was the essence of genuine humanity and kindness, and his dedication to his family and DSL will never be extinguished from our minds.

“He will be deeply missed leaving behind so many fond memories. We ask that you keep Bill’s family in your thought and prayers as they go through this most difficult time.”

Bill’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 11th February 2020 between 11am and 1pm at: Wilford Hill Crematorium, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham
NG2 7FE

Bill proudly supported Khalsa Aid and Educate Punjab Charities. Donations in memory of Bill will be gratefully received. To donate online, please visit: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/serbjit-landa
