New images revealed as major Grade A office scheme gathers pace

What the interior of Crocus Place could look like

Franklin Ellis Architects has released a pair of images which reveal what the interior of Nottingham’s new Crocus Place development could look like.

The seven-storey, 125,000 sq ft Grade A office scheme in the city’s Southside area is being undertaken by Nottingham City Council’s Property Plus arm. It will sit on a vacant site on the south east junction of Arkwright Street and Crocus Street not far from other new office developments such as Unity Square, the City Buildings and Bildurn’s Station Street project.

The building, which received planning approval last year, is expected to house more 1,000 employees when it opens in Summer 2021.

The Council is understood to have received interest from several potential tenants for the building, which will also include a café and meeting spaces on the ground floor and provide a backdrop to the current public space between the tram line and Arkwright Street.

The development, designed to respect its location near Nottingham station, will include a prominent brick and glass façade.

Jon Crabb, associate partner at Franklin Ellis Architects, said: “We’re very proud to be working alongside Nottingham City Council to bring this high quality, sustainable office building to Nottingham and contribute to the significant Southside regeneration programme.

“There is a growing demand for office space in the city and this is a prime, accessible location which will help to accommodate that need, as well as transform the approach to the city centre and Broadmarsh development.”
