Flooring firm collapses with all jobs lost

A Derbyshire resin floor firm has ceased trading after a the Covid-19 pandemic ended any chance of it recovering from a period of tough trading.

Raj Mittal and Ben Jones from business advisory firm FRP were appointed joint administrators of Advanced Resin Technologies on 8 April.

Advanced Resin Technologies specialised in the refurbishment and installation of resin flooring for a range of customers across the UK, including a number of blue-chip customers.

The director made the decision to cease trading on 26 March 2020. At this point all six employees were made redundant.

Mittal said: “Advanced Resin Technologies was a business with a strong customer base, but unfortunately the challenges facing the company proved too strong and it was unable to generate the cashflow to remain solvent. This led the director to make the difficult decision to cease trading and appoint Administrators.

“Our priority is now to support those employees affected and we will be working closely with the Redundancy Payments Service to do so. We will also be working closely with the director to assess options and look to realise the company’s assets.”
