On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Amanda Butler

Octavian UK, the Nottingham-based multi-services facilities management and security provider, has expanded after appointing Amanda Butler as its new director of business Development.

Butler joins Octavian UK as the company looks to grow through acquisition in 2020. Revenues grew by 240% last year, with the company on target to break through the £10m mark in 2020.

Butler has a background in the legal sector having been a partner in a large, Top 30 corporate law firm and then successfully setting up her own practice.

She said: “I’m delighted to join such an ambitious company as Octavian.

“I understand the pressures on business owners and leaders and I will look to bring solution-based ideas to enhance the strengths of the existing team here at Octavian. It’s going to be a very exciting few months for the business.”

Reshma Sheikh, managing director at Octavian UK, added: “We’re incredibly fortunate to have Amanda on board. She brings with her strength in understanding client needs, legal requirements and building long term business relationships. The whole team is looking forward to working with her.”

Michelle Allison

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed Michelle Allison as branch chair for Greater Lincolnshire.

Allison is chief rxecutive of the Education Business Partnership (EBP), a Lincoln-based company which works with business to connect young people to the world of work and skills development.

She succeeds Gary Headland, chief executive of Lincoln College Group, following his elevation to regional chair for the East Midlands.

Allison said: “This is a challenging time for directors but the Greater Lincolnshire branch of the IoD continues to be well placed to support our business community.

“I will put members at the heart of what we do, building upon the excellent work already taking place to drive localised support and engagement with the Institute’s powerful policy voice and supporting members to be a force for good within our local communities.”
