Law firm names new head of dispute resolution

Nick Wells

Derby law Flint Bishop has named partner, Nick Wells, as its new head of dispute resolution.

The promotion caps a stellar year for Wells, which has seen him act in several high-profile High Court cases and even included an appearance at Europe’s highest court in Luxembourg – something very few private practice lawyers ever get to experience.

Wells said: “The quality of work that we have dealt with in the department over the last year or so has been exceptional; way beyond the type of cases that would normally be dealt with in the East Midlands.

“Having trained at Flint Bishop and helped the firm and the department grow its reputation regionally and nationally, I am looking forward to taking the reins of an established Legal 500 top tier department and maintaining the quality and levels of work that we have built up over years of hard work.”

Chief executive Qamer Ghafoor, added: “It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Nick on his promotion. He has worked incredibly hard to achieve significant successes for the department, working for household name clients and dealing with increasingly complex and high value cases.

“Nick is also an integral member of the firm’s management board and has helped devise and implement the board’s strategic plans to take the firm forward.

“On behalf of the firm, I wish Nick every success with this appointment.”
