Six new partners for law firm

The new partners

Law firm Roythornes Solicitors has made six new partner promotions.

Benjamin Smith, Emily Danson, Claire Hindmarsh, Hannah Leese, Alex Armstrong, and Lisa Millington have all been promoted to partner as the law firm announces the expansion of its Alconbury and Birmingham offices.

After establishing an office in Birmingham city centre earlier this year, the firm has now moved to larger premises. Smith and Danson – who joined the business earlier in the year alongside partner Bhavesh Amlani, a former sector head at national firm Shoosmiths – have both been promoted within the real estate team to partner.

Roythornes has also expanded in Cambridgeshire. The firm first opened its Alconbury office on the Enterprise Campus of the new Alconbury Weald development in March 2019.

Vember Mortlock, managing director at Roythornes, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Roythornes. We took immediate measures to strengthen the business as soon as we went into lockdown – we planned for the worst but strived for the best. This strategy resulted in a strong end to our financial year in June, with turnover up by 4% and net profit up by 10%. This was a fantastic result, showcasing a huge amount of hard work and dedication by our staff.”

The new partners are all located across the firm’s sectors and offices. Alconbury-based Claire Hindmarsh specialises in agricultural property, Hannah Leese is a specialist food litigator in the Nottingham office, and Alex Armstrong and Lisa Millington – who both trained with the firm – are located in the Spalding headquarters within the real estate and private client teams respectively.

Kelly Eagers has also promoted to senior associate at the Peterborough office, with Mark Towey and Ben Taylor taking associate roles at Spalding. Georgina Worley has also recently joined the Alconbury real estate team as a senior associate.

Mortlock added: “All of those promoted have demonstrated their expertise, adaptability, and exceptional levels of client service throughout the current period – we are thrilled to have them on board as we continue to drive the business forward.”
