People: Earl Shilton Building Society; Smith Cooper Independent Financial Solutions

Earl Shilton Building Society has hired a new assistant management accountant.

Nitin Mistry has joined the Earl Shilton team, bringing a wealth of experience having spent his career so far in a range of accounting roles across several industries.

Much of his career has been spent within the footwear sector having worked for Wolverine Worldwide, which includes the Hush Puppies and Merrel brands within its portfolio, and Shoe Zone, where he was responsible for budgets and forecasting for over 500 stores across the UK and Ireland.

Mistry said: “The size of esbs means it offers a great platform to learn the different aspects of the banking sector and to get a deeper understanding of financial institutions and how they operate.

“What I love about esbs is the people, the supportive and friendly team have made me feel so welcomed.”

George Brandist and Aman Matharu

Smith Cooper Independent Financial Solutions (SCIFS) has hired graduates Aman Matharu and George Brandist to the firm as financial planning analysts.

Both join the firm from Coventry University, where they completed degrees in Accounting & Finance, and Finance respectively. They will now be fast-tracked to become chartered financial planners.

Paul Hamilton, director of SCIFS, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Aman and George to the team. These appointments highlight our commitment to investing in aspiring young professionals in both the local, and wider Midlands region”.
