TheBusinessDesk.com expands in the East Midlands with key hire

Jack Hickey

TheBusinessDesk.com is expanding in the East Midlands after revealing a new, high-profile appointment.

Jack Hickey is joining the business as head of commercial for the East Midlands, to work alongside his West Midlands counterpart, Brett Murray.

Jack joins TheBusinessDesk.com from brand agency Champions UK, where he was head of corporate development, and is a specialist in long-term strategic planning, business development and marketing strategies.

Upon graduating from University with a first class degree, Jack was selected as one of De Montfort University’s ‘Inspirational People 2015’.

Jack’s varied career includes a stint as a highly successful teacher who specialised in turning around failing schools. From here he served as the primary education advisor to the Conservative Education Society before a stint in politics.

Jack then served as chairman of the Conservative Party in Leicester overseeing campaign strategy, public relations, communication strategy and dealing with key stakeholders within Leicestershire including numerous cabinet ministers.

This led to him running for Parliament in Leicester West during the 2017 General Election – the youngest to do so in the history of the constituency amongst major political parties.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a prestigious media company as TheBusinessDesk.com, which has an excellent reputation for working with companies of all sizes to help them raise their profile – not only in the East Midlands, but across the UK.

“I’m passionate about East Midlands businesses and want them to succeed. I’m very much looking forward to driving their message through our channels and meeting contacts and clients old and new.”

Lee-J Walker, co-managing director of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “On the back of our extremely successful Invest Midlands online conference in May, we have big plans for the region. Having Jack on board is the first important step to expanding our team and capabilities in the region further, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s chosen to join us at such an exciting time for TheBusinessDesk.com.”
