People: Purpose Media; BB&J

Emma Blaken and Matt Bonser

Derbyshire-based web development, creative and digital marketing agency, Purpose Media, has made four new hires and promoted two others.

Following up from their recent hire of Dav Nash as head of digital, Purpose Media has appointed Alistair Bullock who has joined as a videographer and photographer for the agency, having previously worked for himself and on prominent motoring channels Car Throttle and WTF1. He also brings experience in drone photography – an in-demand service.

Meanwhile, Barney Curzon-Jones has joined as an account manager and brings sales, marketing and business development experience within the construction industry.

Becky Sandars and Josh Wallis have joined as account executives to support the wider team with the day-to-day interactions with clients.

There have also been two internal promotions at Purpose Media. Matthew Bonser has stepped up from senior account manager to account director.

Emma Blaken has moved from her account manager role to become head of marketing for Purpose Media.

Matt Wheatcroft, managing director at Purpose Media, said: “I’m delighted to welcome five new members to the team in the past month, and it’s brilliant to see Matthew and Emma deservedly being promoted within.

“We’re in a busy period of growth and we are recruiting to ensure we can deliver the best level of service possible to our new and existing clients.”

Mark Richardson and Carys Hughes

Carys Hughes, soon to be starting at Derby College, has joined commercial property agency BB&J as a business administration apprentice.

Mark Richardson, partner at Derby-based BB&J Commercial, said: “we are absolutely delighted to have Carys join us on a Business Administration Apprenticeship Scheme. It’s great to be creating another role and expanding our team yet again, and as a local employer we are very supportive of the apprentice programme and the opportunity it provides people who want to develop in a work place role.

“With the support of Derby College, I’m totally confident Carys will be a very important part of our growing BB&J Commercial team.”
