Former Council offices put up for sale in Grantham

South Kesteven District Council has relocated part of its office operation

Part of the Council office complex on St Peter’s Hill in Grantham has been put up for sale.

South Kesteven District Council has appointed Banks Long & Co. to market a three-storey office building and 0.45 acres of land to the rear of the nearby Savoy Cinema following its decision to relocate part of its office function to Council owned space on St Catherine’s Road.

Banks Long & Co. says the sale represents a “rare opportunity” to secure a substantial redevelopment site in Grantham town centre with the potential for a variety of commercial and residential uses.

Cllr Kelham Cooke, leader of South Kesteven District Council, said: “The move from the Council’s current St Peter’s Hill offices, will allow the Council to rationalise its space requirements by using modern space that is suited to the requirements of a modern local authority. This in turn has allowed the Council to bring to the market an opportunity for the private sector to create an exciting new development of the vacant space and land.”

James Butcher at Banks Long and Co. added: “Banks Long & Co are delighted to be assisting the Council in their plans for St Peter’s Hill through the marketing of the space that is being vacated and hope to be able to bring forward some exciting new plans for this area in due course.”
