Bakery chain extends partnership with Just Eat

East Midlands bakery chain Birds has extended its partnership with national delivery brand Just Eat.

The companies initially struck a deal to deliver sweet treats and savoury favourites from eleven Birds stores last September.

Now, thanks to the popularity of the service, customers will be able to order deliveries from a further nine outlets across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and East Staffordshire.

From today (31 October), Just Eat will carry out deliveries from the following Birds stores: Albert Street (Derby); Chilwell (Nottingham); Mapperley (Nottingham); Wollaton (Nottingham); Ilkeston (Derbyshire); Victoria Centre (Nottingham); Bakery Shop, Ascot Drive (Derby); Branston (Staffordshire) and Teal Park (Nottingham).

Tim Bird, who has been managing the bakery’s Just Eat partnership, said: “The initial popularity of Just Eat deliveries has been outstanding. While we have many customers who love popping into store for a chat, we also know that there’s a whole new generation of customers who like to shop in a different way. It’s all about being able to offer choice and convenience to our shoppers.

“Our sweet classics have been incredibly popular on Just Eat, including Caramel Doughnuts, Cream Puffs, Orange Danishes and Cream Slices, as well as hot items like sausage and bacon cobs, roast pork rolls, steak slices and sausage rolls. There have also been lots of orders for freshly baked bread, with the Farmhouse Loaf, Multiseed Loaf and Dinner Rolls proving a real hit.”

Birds has 63 stores across the region. The company opened a new 1,200 sq ft outlet in Netherfield last month and said it was looking at further sites across the East Midlands.
