On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Carmen Dominguez

Nottingham-headquartered digital marketing agency Hallam has appointed Carmen Dominguez as head of Organic.

Dominguez will oversee the SEO, content marketing and social media marketing functions at Hallam and act as lead organic consultant for the company’s biggest clients.

She said: “I have never worked in a company filled with so many talented and passionate people. There’s a lot of work to do, but I am happy to be doing it with a team that believes so much in their capabilities and are always striving for more. My plan is to bring our Organic offering to the next level with data-led, AI-assisted strategies and creative implementations.”

Dominguez has over 7 years’ experience in digital marketing, both with agencies and in-house, and previously worked as head of international SEO & content at The Hut Group.

Jake Third, managing director at Hallam, said: “Carmen is a significant strategic hire helping us accelerate our organic SEO offering, with a particular emphasis on international SEO. She has an incredibly impressive background, holding leadership roles both agency and client side. I’m delighted Carmen is joining us and excited to see the impact she can deliver for our clients.”

Elsewhere, insolvency lawyer Stephen Rome has been appointed chair of the Midlands branch of insolvency and restructuring trade body R3.

Rome, a director and practice leader at Thursfields, will occupy the position for two years.

Stephen Rome

He said: “We are facing one of the toughest periods in living memory for many Midlands businesses, with huge post-pandemic challenges and economic turbulence impacting heavily on cashflow.

“As a leading professional body, we are strongly committed to supporting our members as well as campaigning for businesses and individuals in crisis, their creditors and other stakeholders, in order to maximise outcomes for all concerned.

“R3’s key message for the Midlands is that it is imperative for companies and individuals in financial difficulty to seek timely and qualified advice from a professional and reputable source. Quite simply, the earlier we become involved, particularly at a time like the present, the more we can do to help turn things around.”
