On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Kate Edmonds

A new East Midlands based logistics recruiter has added to its team.

Innovate Talent, which is a division of Innovate Freight – an IT consultancy for freight and logistics – has welcomed Kate Edmonds as a talent resourcer.

Edmonds has almost two years of experience within recruitment and logistics.

Innovate Talent – which has its head offices based in Grantham and set up by entrepreneur Richard Litchfield – helps businesses hire for logistics roles, including jobs within operations and sales.

Litchfield said: “We are delighted to welcome Kate to our growing Innovate Talent team. It comes at an exciting time for the logistics sector, which continues to grow.

“Her expertise within both logistics and recruitment will allow us to expand while maintaining our specialist understanding of our clients.”

Edmonds said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to work in the logistics sector and I’m thrilled to join the Innovate Talent team.

“The team are incredibly knowledgeable about the industry and are passionate about focusing on the quality, not the quantity of CVs that we give to businesses.

“It’s been fantastic to work in a role where I can utilise my experience, but also continue to develop my knowledge of the logistics sector.”

Robbie Steel

A Nottinghamshire-based housebuilder has strengthened its planning function with the appointment of a new team member.

Robbie Steel joins the team at Persimmon Homes Nottingham as planning manager.

Prior to joining Persimmon, Steel completed a Master’s in Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield. After graduating, he joined Ashfield District Council in 2015 as a Pplanning officer, working his way up to major projects officer within the authority before moving on to Mansfield District Council in 2021 as major projects and growth team leader.

Here, Steel worked on planning applications for strategic urban extensions; as well as the Towns Fund projects including the Warsop Health Hub and West Notts College Technology Centre.

He said: “I’m delighted to join the Persimmon Homes Nottingham team and I’m looking forward to playing my part in ensuring quality homes and communities are created by us.

“After many years in Local Government, this is my first role in the private sector, and I am very much looking forward to all the different challenges that entails. Persimmon already feels like a great company to work for, especially with its commitment towards sustainable development and quality placemaking.”
