Renowned East Midlands marketing professional retires
John McCay, one of the East Midlands’ most-respected marketing and branding professionals, is to retire.
McCay will now step back from his role as director a RizkMcCayTribe, leaving the company in the hands of Tracey Burridge, Helen Andrews and Nadia Rizk.
McCay’s departure marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, camaraderie, and a touch of Northern Irish charm.
A prodigious networker, McCay had a unique ability to balance professional creativity and dedication with a down-to-earth demeanour has left an indelible mark on the business and endeared him to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
During a very tough time for all businesses through the pandemic, RizkMcCay and Tribe merged in 2020 to bring their strengths together. McCay played a pivotal role in the merger and success of the two businesses becoming one.
Beyond the boardroom, McCay is widely recognised for his passion for cycling. A true enthusiast, he has seamlessly blended his love for the open road with his commitment to a healthy work-life balance, inspiring others to pursue their interests outside of the office. His cycling adventures added an extra dimension to the studio culture.
McCay said he’s looking forward to seeing RizkMcCayTribe achieve even greater heights with the growth plans they have in place and will forever be an advocate, now from afar.
He added: “Good people and behaviours make great businesses and relationships.
“Throughout my journey as a designer and co business owner I have been blessed to have met so many great people that I can truly call friends.”
Tracey Burridge added: “It’s been an emotional time saying farewell to John as he’s been a big character in the business with a vibrant personality.
“Looking ahead, RizkMcCayTribe is poised for an exciting chapter as we enter a period of growth. Acknowledging the challenges that come with expansion, we anticipate the road ahead may not always be smooth sailing. However, we approach this phase with optimism, eagerly welcoming new team members and clients into our ever-expanding family.”
