Manufacturer continues to fight threat of administration

An automotive parts manufacturer is continuing to fight for its future and stave off the threat of administration.

Interflex has filed a second notice of intention to appoint administrators, TheBusinessDesk.com can reveal.

The court process provides a 10-day period of protection from action by creditors, and is used by companies that are looking to secure funding or a rescue deal that can resolve the financial issues.

Interflex filed its first notice on February 28, and extended it today.

The Nottinghamshire-based company supplies a range of sealing solutions for the automotive sector including door seals, interior trim, under carpet and boot seals.

The firm also coats and cuts materials such as the fabric used for arm rests to ensure durability and comfort.

In 2021, Interflex changed hands in an MBO led by Jim Griffin, who is the former chief executive of Midlands manufacturer, the Autins Group.

In 2022, the firm expanded into the horticultural sector with a very different product range by adding biodegradable mulch mats for planting saplings and strawberries to its production line in Langar.
