Games Workshop’s new 63,000 sq ft factory takes major step forward

How the new factory could look

Plans for Games Workshop’s new 63,000 sq ft factory in the Lenton area of Nottingham have taken another important step forward.

Two months after a planning application was submitted for the scheme, Games Workshop, through Jackson Design Associates, has applied to demolish the former Nottingham City Council buildings on the site.

The new 63,000 sq ft facility will be used to manufacture Games Workshop’s products. The firm will also move its packing operations to the building so that it can expand its tooling and injection moulding capabilities. The expansion will start from the summer or autumn of 2026, will last for five years and will create an undisclosed number of new jobs.

The plans also include office space and ancillary space over three floors.

A planning statement from Jackson Design Associates, the architect designing the new factory, reads: “The proposed development will strengthen existing employment provision by adding new floor space (expansion) for an established significant employer, enabling modernisation and increased capacity for manufacturing output. It will also help to secure and potentially provide additional jobs in manufacturing and warehousing employment in the future.”

The news comes just weeks after Warhammer owner Games Workshop increased profits to more than £200m as it continued its remarkable growth.
