On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Katy Upton, CEO of Fortitude Nicsa Global, has been announced as the new patron of Derby Women’s Centre.

Derby Women’s Centre, a cornerstone of support in the community since 1978, offers a range of services including counselling, support groups, and educational programs. The centre’s work is crucial in addressing the complex issues surrounding domestic violence and providing a safe haven for those in need.

One of the key services offered by the centre is their Freedom Programme – a support group that’s designed for women fleeing or who have experienced domestic abuse. Domestic abuse covers not only physical violence but psychological and financial abuse. The centre also offers counselling for men struggling with mental health and or domestic abuse.

Yasmin Nazir, director of Derby Women’s Centre, expressed her enthusiasm about the new partnership: “We are thrilled to welcome Katy Upton as our patron. Her leadership and Fortitude Nicsa Global’s support will be instrumental in amplifying our message and extending our reach to those who need us most.”

Upton added: “It’s an honour to be named patron of Derby Women’s Centre. The work they do is invaluable, and I’m committed to leveraging Fortitude Nicsa Global’s resources and network to shine a spotlight on their efforts. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.”

Peter Aderoju

Business analytics and management specialist Peter Aderoju has joined NLT Training Services in a newly-created role as sales and marketing executive.

His permanent appointment follows a successful 12-week internship through the University of Derby which saw Aderoju implement a new CRM system which will drive NLT’s growth in 2025.

Hesaid: “I have very much enjoyed the time I have already spent with the team as part of the internship. Securing the permanent role is an excellent opportunity for us to continue to work together towards a shared vision of business growth.”
