After seven years of leading the Lincoln counselling hub, Naomi Watkins-Ligudzinska, CEO and co-founder of Naomi Watkins Counselling Hub (NWCH CIC), is stepping away from the day-to-day operations.

Watkins-Ligudzinska and her former business partner, Alex Parkin, started the hub to address a gap in accessible mental health support.

They recognised that many people struggled to find affordable and timely counselling services and wanted to create a space that could provide support for various mental health issues, especially for children and young people who were not receiving the help they needed.

The hub began offering counselling for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship issues, providing a private and inclusive space for people to get the help they needed.

Over the years, NWCH has grown through word of mouth and successful funding efforts, allowing it to expand.

Watkins-Ligudzinska is stepping down, handing over the leadership to operations director Emma Conway, who will continue to manage the hub with the support of the team and board of directors.

NWCH will continue its operations as usual, supporting its 25-person team, which includes both employed staff and subcontracted counsellors, who help clients of all ages.

Watkins-Ligudzinska said: “After years of dedication to building and expanding NWCH, I’ve decided to step back to focus on new opportunities, which include expanding my practice internationally. I have relocated to Spain where I will be focusing on delivering Psychotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy and Growth Coaching, as well as hosting Retreats to help individuals work on personal development and healing.

“NWCH will continue to operate under the experienced guidance of our Board of Directors, management team, staff team and under the steady hand of Emma Conway, who is taking over the CEO duties. The Board is fully committed to maintaining and growing the Hub’s services in the coming years. The focus remains on ensuring continuity of care and expanding our reach to help even more individuals in the community.”
