QUAD receives BBC funding

Derby QUAD has won £83,480 of funding from BBC Children in Need for its creative wellbeing Q Club.

Q Club provides under 18s the opportunity to participate in creative activities, such as filming, coding and photography. Q Club participants are made up of young people from the autistic spectrum, or with communication difficulties, behavioural problems, special educational needs and disabilities young carers or bereaved children.

Charlotte Convey, arts and health development worker at QUAD said: “We are so delighted to receive support from BBC Children in Need. This funding will give young people with additional needs, who may not have regular access to such opportunities, the chance to experience working alongside experienced artists in a safe and friendly environment. It’s going to have a huge impact on their self-esteem.”
