On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Jane White

Digital agency Burnthebook, which is based in Derby, has appointed Jane White, a technical artworker, to its publishing department.

White joins as a technical artworker in a newly created position. She has over 40 years’ experience in publishing and print design and has worked at a number of agencies and publishers, both in the Midlands and Oxfordshire. Her last position was with a printing firm based in Leicestershire.

In her new role, White will be predominantly working on reports and papers for Burnthebook’s scientific research clients.

She said: “Burnthebook is the perfect fit for me. They value the experience and skills I have, and recognise what I can bring to the table, which is really refreshing to see at this stage in my career.”

Assistant surveyor at Innes England, Laura Hibbs has been elected chair of the Nottingham division of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Matrics surveyor network.

The Matrics is a networking and support group within the wider RICS institution, designed especially for students, trainees and newly qualified surveyors.

The RICS East Midlands annual general meeting, which took place last week, served as an opportunity for the local RICS committee to elect a new chairperson for RICS Matrics in Nottingham.

Hibbs said: “I am extremely grateful to the committee for giving me this amazing opportunity to give something back to the Matrics group. I feel a great deal of pride to be such an integral part of the RICS at this stage in my career.

“I’ve met so many great people through the networking services facilitated by Matrics and I look forward to using my position to influence others to do the same”.

Hibbs has been on the RICS Matrics committee for over two years and has acted as vice chair for a year before accepting her new position.
