Property moves: the latest industry hires

David Wells

Law firm Hewitsons has strengthened its specialist real estate team with the appointment of David Wells, Bryan Guest, Peter Sullivan and Amanda O’Mahoney.

Bryan Guest and Peter Sullivan are joining Wells in the commercial real estate division as an associate and associate executive respectively.

Amanda O’Mahoney has joined the team as a solicitor working on a range of property work including development and landlord and tenant.

David Wells said: “I am pleased to be joining the team at Hewitsons as it’s a firm with wealth of expertise and an excellent range of clients across many different sectors. The real estate team is a key strength of the firm, and I look forward to supporting and building upon their growing client base and its offering.”

A joinery apprentice taken on by local housebuilder Barratt Homes has accompanied 23 other apprentices currently working at the North Midlands division.

Jack Broughton, from Toton in Nottinghamshire, has been accepted onto the apprenticeship at the Barratt North Midlands development Hollygate Park in Cotgrave and is hoping it will help him towards pursuing a career in the industry.

The 22-year-old is now able to gain hands on experience at the development whilst studying one day a week at Central College in Beeston for an NVQ Level 2 in Site Joinery.

He said: “The fact that Barratt Homes is a leading company in the construction industry attracted me straight away and made me want to go for the apprenticeship.

“I’m really enjoying learning all about the different areas in joinery and physically building things as these are two things you can learn more about whilst on site rather than being in a classroom.

“I love working in a team environment and seeing the site progress on a day to day basis and I’m trying to take in as much information as possible whilst gaining this valuable experience.”
