Claremont begins £2.4m HQ project

NORTH West office design specialist Claremont Group Interiors has begun work on a £2.4m project to rejuvenate the corporate headquarters of specialist engineering company Spirax-Sarco.
The work on Charlton House,Cheltenham, a Grade II listed building, will be completed later this year. It includes workplace consultancy, design, space planning and a re-fit.
The project will be carried out in phases to ensure minimal disruption to the firm and its employees.
Charlton House has been expanded over the last 50 years with two major building extensions. Claremont’s new design will open up the building to reflect a more contemporary, collaborative organisation while maintaining the elements of the original design.
Sarah-Jane Osbourne a designer at Warrington-based Claremont said: “Obviously the space has to be as efficient as possible, but we are also aiming to reflect the social and collaborative nature of the workplace in a number of ways.
“As well as new meeting rooms, we have increased the informal break out areas that now also include a coffee hub. It is this approach that will create the right climate for Spirax Sarco to achieve its business objectives. We are delighted to be able to work on such an exciting project.”
In a further boost Yorkshire financial outsourcing company HomeLoan Management has appointed Claremont to develop the interior design concept for its new offices at Gargrave Road, Skipton.
The new building’s floor space will be approximately 100,000sq ft and will house 850 staff, centralising all operations onto a single site. The project is due for completion in January 2010.
Ann Clarke, design director of Claremont said: “We are thrilled to be working with HML and we aim to ensure the development of a first class office space which will accommodate the company’s current and future plans.”
