Enterprise clocks up pair of metering deals

ENTERPRISE Group has announced that it has won two meter installation and maintenance contracts which will boost the size of its energy management services division.
The Preston-based support services firm has secured a deal with National Grid to carry out its domestic metering services in both its northern and southern network trading areas.
Similarly, it has been named as preferred bidder by British Gas for a meter installation contract in its Northern are which is estimated to be worth £7m a year over a two-year period.
The firm said that the contracts build upon the acquisition of the gas and electricity meter installation operations of United Utilities Group in September 2010 and its existing presence in the UK meter installation industry.
It added that the imminent planned roll out of smart meter installation in the UK “will provide the group with a further substantial growth opportunity”.
Neil Kirkby, group chief executive of Enterprise, said: “These contract successes, both with existing customers, indicate the strength of our long term relationships.
“We are well-positioned in the UK energy management services market. We look forward to increasing further our range of services in the market and participating in its growth.”
