Appointments: O’Brien joins KPMG’s consulting team; Key hires for PH Jones and RTS

KPMG has appointed Andy O’Brien to the role of director in its Northern performance and technology practice.
He will work across the firm’s five offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Leeds and Newcastel and advise organisations on performance issues ranging from cost optimisation to IT, operational and financial transformation.
Mr O’Brien said: “As growth creeps back on the business agenda and discussions turn once again to strategy after a focus on more short term concerns during the recession, it’s important that management teams align their operations to changed business goals.
“I’m looking forward to working with KPMG’s clients to enhance their effectiveness by improving their front and back office functions, as well as their operating models and processes.”

CHESHIRE property maintenance and utility metering services provider PH Jones has appointed Gary Conway as business improvement manager.
Mr Conway, who joins the family-owned Malpas-based firm from Tesco, will support PH Jones’ development and growth strategy by improving efficiencies and service delivery to all customers.
He said: “PH Jones is a company with strong family values and roots. Whilst it has grown significantly over the past few years to a workforce of over 1,200 those values still remain.
“I am looking forward to working with key divisions in the company to help streamline working practices, increase productivity and develop a new field efficiency model to improve operational performance.”

MICHAEL Pollard has been appointed as director for the sample management business unit at RTS Life Science.
Now part of the Cheshire-based Entologi Group, RTS is an engineering technology company based in Salford. It supplies the pharmaceutical, biobanking and automation industries.
Mr Pollard is married with two children and lives in the Birchwood area of Warrington. He has worked for RTS delivering major projects for the last 15 years.
