Appointments: New starters at Deloitte, Gorvins, Imerja and Access Point

DAVID Cooney has joined the private client team at Gorvins in Stockport to work on wills trusts and probate.

Previously a partner with Aaron and Partners in Chester, has experience in the niche area of advising caravan park owners on their succession planning.

He is also one of only 320 or so solicitors in the country who are also chartered tax advisors (CTA).

He said: “I am really enthusiastic about working at Gorvins. The team is already strong with an excellent local reputation. I am the third partner and hope to add an extra dimension to the work that we already offer.”

DELOITE’S reorganisation services division in Manchester has appointed credit management expert Victoria Herd.

Herd, who specialises in the sales order-to-cash process, receivables collectionsVictoria Herd, Deloitte and query management, provides an all round credit management and advisory service. 

She joins the Manchester accountancy firm after two years as credit manager at the UK’s largest food producer, Premier Foods.

Since becoming a qualified credit manager in 2003, Herd has led credit teams across a number of sectors, including construction, engineering, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications.

BOLTON-based IT solutions provider, Imerja, has made two new appointments to support the increased growth of its monitoring and managed service offering, mlfour.

Sam Kingdom and Zahan Al-Rashid join the company as support engineers for Imerja’s Secure Operations Centre (ISOC). ISOC underpins service delivery through the mlfour framework by providing support, monitoring and managed services.

Managing director Ian Jackson said: “The demand for mlfour is growing and we anticipate this to continue at an increasing pace throughout 2011 as more businesses and public sector organisations, in particular, review their IT estates and look to save money via centralised monitoring and managed services.”

SOUTHPORT-based marketing firm Access Point has made three new appointments.

It has promoted three members of its 32-strong team to management and Access Pointdirector positions.

Amanda Shaw, 39, middle, has stepped up from senior technical administrator to resource director. Caroline Chong, 42, left, has become finance director and Jacquie Sim, 33, right, has been appointed head of sales.

Access Point specialises in placing third-party promotions within consumer environments and also offers the opportunity to place promotions on the rear of till rolls.

Its roster of retailers includes Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Homebase, Makro and Wyvale Garden Centres.
