MHA to expand with £20m

BARCLAYS Commercial Bank has provided £20m funding to MHA to enable the charity, which has a number of sites in the North West, to expand its care services for older people.

MHA is a major provider of not-for-profit care homes, housing and support services for older people who aim to meet the differing needs of individuals in later life.

With 22 sites in the region, MHA already operates 70 care homes throughout the UK, providing a mix of residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as independent living properties and support services for more than 12,500 older people.

Mark Bearcroft, healthcare relationship director with Barclays Commercial Bank, said: “We are delighted to help MHA to expand in line with its business ambitions which demonstrates Barclays Commercial Bank’s commitment to the long term funding and support of business in the healthcare market.

“MHA is a significant charitable care provider and I look forward to seeing the company go from strength to strength in the future.”

Paul Milner, finance director of MHA, said: “The financial backing from Barclays Commercial Bank underlines their confidence in our business model. The new funding will allow us to develop more care services and further improve our existing facilities for older people.

“Our long-term relationship with Barclays Commercial Bank and their ‘can do’ approach is valued and continues to be an important part of our future growth.”
