Ryanair ups Liverpool routes

BUDGET airline Ryanair is flying in the face of the downturn in the sector, with five new European routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The Irish carrier is also increasing the frequency of flights to a number of other destinations this winter.

From October new routes will begin to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Rzeszow (Poland), Vienna and Faro  in Portugal.

The frequency of flights to Belfast, Alicante, Malaga and Riga are also being upped.

Speaking in Liverpool today, Ryanair’s Dara Brady said: “Ryanair is delighted to announce five new sun routes and increased frequencies to/from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which will allow us to bring more low fares, more competition and choice to even more UK consumers/visitors.

“These new routes are on sale now for flights until 30 March 2010, allowing passengers to book the guaranteed lowest fares over the winter.”
