Appointments: Unger at Kenyons; Manager at Pochin Construction

LIVERPOOL marketing and PR agency Kenyon Fraser has appointed former newspaper editor Mike Unger to its board of directors.

Mr Unger has been editor of newspapers including the Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News.  He has also sat on the board of Guardian Media Group and charity Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, where he was chief executive.

As a director of Kenyon Fraser, Mr Unger develop new areas of the business and build on the expansion of the agency’s corporate and health teams.

Mr Unger said: “Kenyon Fraser has seen dynamic growth in the last two years and I am looking forward to building on this success. We have some great ideas in the pipeline which will increase our offering and expand the company into new areas.  With this in mind we are confident that the company will exceed the targets set for 2010.”

POCHIN Construction has appointed Lara Da Rocha-Faria as corporate and social responsibilities manager.

Ms Da Rocha-Faria has experience working in both the education and commercial sectors. She worked in education for eight years as a learning mentor, before spending two years with corporate training company, SFL.

She initially advised Pochin’s on its construction of the new Welsh Assembly Government’s (WAG) offices at Llandudno Junction.

In her new role, her remit is to engage with local communities and ensure that all Pochin construction sites offer interactive learning opportunities for all surrounding communities.

Jon Pochin, managing director of Pochin Construction, said: “Lara’s involvement in opening up the barriers between the WAG construction site and the local community has been a great success, and certainly helped in achieving our goal of making the site an interactive learning opportunity for local schools and residents. We were so pleased with success of Lara’s involvement in the WAG scheme that we decided to roll this out to all our construction projects.”
