STOCKPORT law firm SAS Daniels has advised waste management firm 4Recycling on a £9m joint venture that will build a new anaerobic digestion plant in Plymouth.

The firm advised 4Recycling on its partnership with Aerothermal Group, which will be known as AAD (South West) Ltd.

It is proposing to build the plan at the Imersys Minerals site at Lee Moor in South Devon. The plant will separate out waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill and creates a compost-like substance that will be used at Imersys Minerals’ China Clay site at Lee Moor as part of an ongoing restoration of the site.

Gareth Brewerton, associate solicitor in the corporate business group at SAS Daniels in Stockport, said:  “This is an exciting project which demonstrates how the waste industry is investing in new technology to produce green and sustainable sources of energy from waste material.

“4Recycling has built up a highly respected business which continues to grow and we are proud to assist them as they grow their business.”
