Jobs lost as workwear firm fails

TEN jobs have been lost at a Blackpool workwear firm after it fell into administration.

Administrators from Salford-based Crawfords were appointed to Safe & Warm on April 5.

The business had been trading for 10 years, supplying workwear and protective equipment but the slump in the construction sector hit cashflow, according to a spokesman for Crawfords.

Administrator David Kaye said: “Safe & Warm has vacated its premises on Vicarage Lane, Blackpool and all 10 staff have been made redundant. We are now seeking to satisfy those suppliers that have a retention of title clause in place.

“After an urgent preliminary review of the company’s finances it became clear that the underlying business simply wasn’t viable and so we were forced to close it down with the unfortunate loss of jobs. Our priority is now to try and satisfy creditors and make the best of a difficult situation.”

Safe & Warm owes its bank £86,000 and unsecured creditors £200,000.
