Phones4U takes last town centre unit at Wythenshawe

DEVELOPER St Modwen has secured a letting to Phones4U at Wythenshawe town centre which it said ensures that the town’s retail offer is now 100% let.

Phones4U has taken a 1,500 sq ft ground floor unit at The Birtles on a five-year lease.

Steve Knowles, development director at St Modwen, said: “Wythenshawe town centre has a very strong convenience-led offer and we’ve worked hard to strike the right balance between independent retailers, multiples and national brands. 

“Wythenshawe serves a large proportion of residential and commercial areas in South Manchester and we believe Phones4U will do well here.  This letting is a sign of the high levels of confidence in Wythenshawe as a thriving town centre.”

The town centre is anchored by an Asda superstore and includes national retailers Argos, Boots and Game Station as well as independent retailers Deli 19, Gift Doctor and an indoor food market.
