ServicePower signs £2.4m greenhouse deal
STOCKPORT-based ServicePower Technologies, which specialises in outsourced field management, has signed a five-year agreement with a US greenhouse specialist.
ServicePower has struck the £2.4m deal with Illinois-based International Greenhouse Company (IGC) which makes horticultural products for commercial and hobby growers.
Under the terms of the deal ServicePower will administer the field services, including installation and assembly, for IGC’s line of greenhouses and residential heaters.
Chief executive Mark Duffin said: “ServicePower has recognised the exponential growth in worldwide demand for eco-friendly products. As a result, we are expanding our existing global network of 65,000 independent contractors to support theses eco-friendly products, such as greenhouses and global solar panel installation.”
Last month ServicePower confirmed it had received an offer for the business but the AIM-listed group, said the value of the bid was too low to recommend it to shareholders.
In a brief statement to the market the group said the unnamed bidder was “reconsidering its position”.
