Manchester Airport gets AA routes to JFK

AMERICAN Airlines is adding a new summer service between Manchester and New York, from 2010.

The non-stop daily service will run between Manchester and JFK from May 16 until September 30, 2010.

The airline will fly the new route with Boeing 757-200 aircraft reconfigured for international operations. The service will offer 182 seats, including 16 lie-flat business class seats.

Craig Kreeger, American Airline’s senior vice president for international, said: “These new routes further demonstrate American’s commitment to the UK market and build upon our Manchester operation.

“This will be our second scheduled service between Manchester and the USA and complements our Manchester – Chicago service which has been in operation for more than 20 years.”

Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport’s managing director, said: “The service to New York JFK offers convenient connections across their US network including Boston, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Diego.

“All of these destinations have significant demand from the North West region giving passengers an alternative oneworld partner to these markets. New York itself has significant business links with the region across many sectors and continues to be a popular leisure destination.”
