Appointments: Two new partners at BLG; Industry heavyweight joins CTS board

LAW firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has appointed two new partners in its Manchester office.

The new partners are Dene Rowe, who although not a lawyer, is managing partner of the office, and Chris Murray, a personal injury defendant specialist.

Mr Rowe joined BLG in 2010 as operations director before his appointment this year as office managing partner.

Chris Murray is often involved in high profile cases, including the seminal occupiers’ liability case, Tomlinson v Congleton Borough Council, in which he successfully defended Congleton and Cheshire Borough Councils.

The Manchester duo were among nine partnership promotions. Senior partner Simon Konsta said: “The size and spread of this year’s promotions underlines our commitment to our core markets and our desire for international growth. They also reflect the positive performance of all of our practice areas in 2010/2011, and substantially increased profitability for the firm over the last financial year.”
