Revenue grows at market research firm

MARKET research firm DJS Research has grown turnover and taken on more staff.
The Whaley Bridge-based company said sales grew from around £1m to £1.5m in its last trading year.
Managing director Danny Sims said that the company had prospered as it is closer to its customers than its London-based rivals. Mr Sims said DJS had also focused on delivering a high level of service.
The firm has recruited five new staff, taking its permanent workforce to 23. It also has a team of face-to-face and telephone interviewers.
Mr Sims said: “The climate continues to be challenging within the market research industry but yet again, we are bucking the trend with an excellent year of growth.
“We are now an agency of size within the North, with many talented researchers. We want to grow further but without losing the family-orientated culture that makes DJS Research a special place to work.”
The new recruits are: Matt Bristow, senior research executive; Laura Crowe, trainee research executive; Alex McCluckie, trainee research executive; Anne Russell, executive support; and Alistair Smith, trainee writer.
In addition Sarah Smith and Maya Winter have been promoted from senior researchers to research managers.
