Appointments: Tangerine’s first marketing director; HR chief at Daisy and more…

TANGERINE Confectionery, the UK’s largest independent sugar confectionery company has appointed Alison Lewis as its first marketing director.
Ms Lewis, 47, joins the Blackpool-based business from Radar, an independent research and marketing consultancy she helped establish in 2002.
The consultancy has worked for Tangerine since the sweet maker’s foundation in 2005. Other clients included Gamestation, ghd hair care, ASDA and Burgess Petcare.
She says:“The creation of this new board position signals the company’s ambition to continue to grow as a major force within the confectionery industry, and recognises the vital role that marketing and particularly consumer marketing will play in achieving our goals.”
Private equity-owned Tangerine boasts an unrivalled portfolio of hugely popular, famous British brands including kids’ favourites Barratt and MOJO, the leading popcorn brand Butterkist, Taveners Proper Sweets and Princess Marshmallows.

HAZEL Warhurst has joined expanding AIM-listed telecoms company Daisy Group as head of human resources.
Hazel, 33, joins the Lancashire company from Eurotel, the Halifax-based telecoms firms bought by Daisy in August this year.
She has worked in HR for the last 15 years, holding senior management roles in manufacturing, telecoms and also health and safety sectors, previously working for Weir Group and BT.
Chief executive Matthew Riley said: “Hazel has a wealth of experience across many different sectors and for a rapidly growing company like Daisy, this is vital,” he said.

AON Trade Credit, the UK’s leading credit insurance broker, has promoted David Walmsley to the role of branch director in Manchester.
David, formerly branch manager, and his team will be responsible for helping north west businesses manage their receivables to prevent bad debt.
As well as his promotion Aon has appointed two new client service directors Mike Butler and Andy Seddon.

BLUE Bell BMW in Wilmslow has appointed Dane Bentley as a sales executive.
He has previously worked for Royles Jaguar in Wilmslow and Williams BMW in Rochdale.
In his new role Dane has been developing Blue Bell’s customer relationship management systems.
