Glazing company boss killed in US crash
THE managing director of a Birkenhead glazing business has been killed in a road accident in America.
Malcolm Allanson, 59, from the Wirral, suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle was in a collision with a car near Daytona beach, Florida last week.
Five other people travelling with him were injured including Fred Hibberd, the landlord of the Perch Rock Hotel, New Brighton.
Mr Allanson ran Prenton-based Royal Extrusions which employs 25 people. A receptionist at the company said the staff were “too upset” to discuss Mr Allanson’s death.
Royal Extrusions employee Wayne Maycock was seriously injured in the accident, losing a leg and breaking his other leg. Three other passengers Joe Hibberd, Paul Boon and Stuart Gemmel also suffered injuries but they are not thought to be life-threatening.
