Distributor toasts new home

A DRINKS distributor is targeting a 20% growth in turnover after securing a six-figure sum from Lloyds bank to fund its new headoffice.
Same Day Beers has relocated from Hyde to a new 30,000 sq ft warehouse and office unit at Bredbury in Stockport. The firm, which employs 130 people, supplies beers wines and spirits to pubs, nightclubs, restaurants and hotels across the North West.
It currently offers a same-day service to most of the North West, as well as many parts of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Birmingham from depits at Stockport, Blackpool, Stoke-on-Trent, the Wirral and Nottingham.
It also plans to extend its offer to Cumbria and North Lancashire within the next few months.
The business was set up in 2003 by Brian Wright and has relocated from nearby Hyde.
Mr Wright said: “We provide a wide variety of drinks, bar sundries, cleaning products and glassware to purveyors across Greater Manchester, many of whom rely on our same day service to capitalise fully on periods of increased demand, such as high-profile sporting events.
“It is essential that we have a large, well-sited warehousing facility in order to meet demand from the city’s hospitality market.”
Phil Simpson, relationship director at Lloyds TSB Commercial, said: “Same Day Beers has a sound business model, a good track record for growth and a loyal stable of restaurant, pub and hotel clients which rely on its service week in, week out, to keep their stocks at a manageable level.
“By working closely with the firm’s management team, we were able to tailor a funding package which allowed the company to both secure the new site and provide additional leeway to drive sales growth.”
