In Brief: Energetix fillip; Motorbike firm crashes & more

CHESHIRE green energy firm Energetix Group has been granted a core patent by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for its microCHP technology, used in its Kingston appliance.
Adrian Hutchings, chief executive of the AIM-listed group, said: “The microCHP technology is capable of generating 1kW of electrical power while remaining inherently low-cost in initial outlay.
“We are delighted to receive the patent for Canada. We are continuing to work with CanmetENERGY, the Canadian leader in clean energy research and technology development, to explore promotion of the Kingston product throughout North America.”

SUMMER Retail has ceased trading with the closure of its three motorcycle franchise dealerships, one of which was in Stockport.
Although five staff will be retained for a short period to help with the sale of the company’s assets, 44 employees have been made redundant.
The company had dealerships in Stockport, Doncaster and Leeds.
John Russell and Chris White, partners at The P&A Partnership in Sheffield, were appointed joint administrators on July 15.

CONLON Construction has won a £2.4m contract to redevelop a Sefton primary school.
The improvement of Davenhill Primary in Aintree, is to be funded through the Children Services Capital Programme.
