Profits up 10% at Peninsula

PENINSULA Business Services, the employment law consultancy, has posted a 10% rise in profits in the year to the end of March.
Owned by Fred and Peter Done, the North West bookmakers and run by Peter, Manchester-based Peninsula, also provides health and safety advice to 26,000 small and medium-sized businesses.
Profits at the firm, which is based on Cheetham Hill Road ,rose 10% to £13.4m and turnover 8% to £83m.
Peter Done said he was ‘very pleased’ with the figures and pledged the business would continue to grow organically and by acquisition in the the next year.
“To add to the 850 employees we are going to be recruiting around 20 new jobs in the next six months starting commencing with the employment of 14 graduates that will work in our call centre training academy.
“I forecast our business will continue to grow within the coming year. We are looking at acquisitions and we have enjoyed successful client retention levels.”
In the last year Peninsula has opened new offices in Belfast and Jersey. The company has added to its executive team with the appointment of Alan Price, Geoffrey Ford and Julie English as board directors.
