Liverpool hotel sale saves 24 jobs

ADMININSTRATORS from Baker Tilly’s North West Restructuring arm have completed a sale of the business and assets of the Blenheim Lakeside hotel at Stanley Park in Liverpool.
The hotel is best known for being the former family home of original Beatles member Stuart Sutcliffe but had been run as an independent 16-bed hotel since the 1980s. It also had a function room used for weddings and birthdays.
Former operator Blenheim Catering was planned into administration back in March, but administrators had continued to trade the company in the hope that a buyer could be found.
The business has now been sold to SBT Liverpool Ltd, which means the jobs of all 24 members of staff have been saved and that functions planned for the hotel can go ahead without disruption.
Joint administrator Lindsey Cooper said: “We are delighted to achieve a sale of the hotel and preserve local jobs especially in such a difficult sector environment with other local hotels closed and remaining on the market.”
