Multi-million-pound apartment scheme given green light

A £14.2m apartment scheme, which will be located on one of Manchester’s key arterial routes, has been given the go ahead by planners.

Plans submitted by regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships North West in June for the development on Princess Road has been approved.

The development will see the creation of 105 two-bedroom apartments, as well as a landscaped roof terrace for residents on its fourth floor.

Designed by Northern Quarter-based architects IDP, the building will step in height along Princess Road, creating an interesting streetscape up to a maximum of six storeys.

Now planning has been approved, Galliford Try Partnerships North West will begin on-site in early 2018, with the development set for completion in summer 2019.

Brendan Blythe, managing director at Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said: “We’re delighted that this scheme, which will provide a high-quality housing offer to the local community, has been approved. Whilst still respecting the local character of the neighbourhood, this scheme will bring exciting, modern architecture to the area.

“With its location on such a prominent route, these apartments afford excellent transport links and amenities. I’ve no doubt that they’ll be a popular choice for professionals and families looking for city living. I’m looking forward to seeing the scheme progress.”
