Logistics North in running to be part of Heathrow expansion

Harworth’s giant Logistics North site near Bolton has been named in a list of 65 potential candidates across the UK in the running to be one of four hubs to deliver Heathrow expansion.

The site near junction 4 of the M61 is the largest industrial development in the North West.

Deputy leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Linda Thomas said: “The news that Logistics North is one of the sites that is a potential logistics hub is a real show of confidence in Bolton.

“This is a real opportunity for Bolton to play a crucial role in the expansion of Heathrow and if the bid is successful it could bring hundreds of jobs for our residents adding to the thousands already created.”

Amazon was the latest company to announce it was opening at Logistics North (in October). When Amazon opens more than 2000 jobs will have been created in total at the site.
